On Saturday 23 August, Scone Palace International Horse Trials will host Arena Eventing classes - for which the competitors have to qualify - at 80cm, 90cm and 1metre level.
Arena Eventing involves just the showjumping and cross-country elements of the sport of eventing - there is no dressage phase. There will be approximately 18 obstacles to jump, of which the first six will be coloured showjumps and the remaining 12 rustic cross-country-type fences. The showjumping element attracts penalties for knocking poles down and for refusals, while the cross-country part is judged on an optimum time.
